Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 20 G
The Focus brand has really introduced some real winners into the cycling world this year. The Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 2013 model is built with sram force again this year as it has been in the past. The Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 has been labelled bicycling magazines “best buy of the year” three years in a row now ensuring those who purchase this bike that they are getting the absolute best road bike for the money. The Izalco pro 3.0 offers full internal cable routing which makes the bike look very slick and clean, plus you don’t get all that jumpy noise from cables hitting the frame. Focus Bikes of USA has grown dramatically over the past few years and a lot of that success is due to the Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 model and its performance.
The technology that has been invested in the Izalco Pro 3.0 consists of a very effective design feature called the BB30 bottom bracket which is found on all bikes manufactured by the Focus line in 2012. The BB30 provides high power transfer and high acceleration off the line. There nothing worse than trying to get off the line and your bottom bracket flexis so badly that you lose all the power transfer you put into your stroke, not to worry the Izalco Pro 3.0 has achieved maximum acceleration. With a wider tapered head tube you also get the control and stiffness that you need in cornering and steering this bad boy. The keyword in this situation is responsiveness, the Izalco Pro 3.0 has become one of the fastest frames on the market and its design is identical to the frame which won “race bike of the year” in 2012, the Focus Izalco Pro model as a whole.
Focus stands for award winning success and they are so confident in their product due to it’s exceptional track record that they are offering a new 6 year warranty on all 2013 carbon frames. If you happen to be looking for anew frame and expect to get your money’s worth than I suggest you take a look at the new 2013 Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 Sram Force model.
FOCUS Cayo Evo 2013
The FOCUS Cayo Evo has been given more attention this year by the FOCUS BIKES line. They have 6 new models with a lower price range than the Izalco line, as an example the new FOCUS Cayo Evo 1.0 which is one of the new additions featuring a Campy Chorus build which has been in the waiting for loyal Focus customers. With deep vision performance bike wheels and a new frame design the Cayo Evo has a sloping top tube and a press fit 30 bottom bracket which allows you to use an extensive list of different crank sets. Along with that model is the Cayo Evo 3.0 which is a red carbon color featuring a full Sram Force group retailing at only $3500. The new attention given to the Cayo Evo line has sparked a lot of interest as these babies are extremely attractive with outstanding paint jobs rivaling that of other flashier brands. The Cayo Evo features a different fork as Focus has given it a new design emphasized on comfort to match the sloping top tube technology. All in all this is meant to be their price point line and there is no doubt about that as the pricing ranges from $2150 retail to $4500 for the Campagnolo Chorus model, in-between that are several Shimano Ultegra builds but each model has a new an eye-catching paint job that is sure to turn heads. While providing a similar quality and high performance ride to that of the Izalco there is some money to be saved when choosing the 6.0 105 model yet getting the same Cayo Evo frame used on the 1.0. For 2013 Focus offers the Cayo Evo in a
1.0 with Campagnolo Chorus
2.0 with Shimano Ultegra DI2
3.0 with Sram Force
4.0 with Ultegra
5.0 with Ultegra also
and the 6.0 with shimano 105
2013 FOCUS Izalco Team SL bike
New for 2013 is the FOCUS Izalco Team SL and Pro line featuring the Focus Izalco Team SL 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, and FOCUS Izalco Team SL 3.0 which features the new Campagnolo EPS electronic 11s road group. The FOCUS Izalco Team SL 1.0 features the New Sram Red group for 2013 and the ZIPP 404 Firecrest Tubular carbon road wheels. The FOCUS Izalco Team SL 2.0 features the New Dura Ace DI2 11 speed electronic group which will be absolutely amazing. The Focus Izalco Team SL for 2013 is 200 grams lighter than the Team model from the year prior. Please remember to check out the FOCUS BIKES available at Carbon Connection Cyclery for either pre ordering or older models in stock such as all 2012 Pro and Team models. Focus Izalco
Focus Izalco
The Focus Izalco is the leading road bike on the market especially when it comes to technology, performance and price. Focus looked to accomplish three things with the Izalco. Those three things are speed, agility, and comfort. Focus hit the mark in every area with the Focus Izalco model. When standing over a Focus Izalco the first thing you will notice is a hour glass shaped top tube dwarfed by the massive down tube, and BB30 bottom bracket. The second thing you may notice, but is often over looked is the asymmetrical seatpost mass. The fame rides as great as it looks, given its immense power transfer. The frame has no gimmicks, unnecessary curves, or inserts. The engineers decided to shape the carbon rather than to use old techniques, one would apply to a steel or an aluminum frame.
The frame implements a massive down tube reinforced by two carbon sleeves, which houses the front and rear derailleur cables. The downtube flows into one of the largest stiffest bottom brackets offered on the market. The chain stays are also among the largest offered on the market, but size is one thing. When the stays are crafted from ultra high modulus unidirectional carbon, you will know your getting every watt you can to the rear wheel.
The carbon is all unidirectional Mitsubishi ultra high modulus, and offers the greatest weight to strength ratio, over any thick over resigned woven carbon. The dropouts are formed from the Focus specific Liquid Force Shape Design, which creates carbon so strong the dropouts are 100% pure carbon, unlike its Chinese counter parts.
The Head tube is an oversized tapered 1 and 1/8th to 1 and 1/4. This would give the rider a sense of confidence when diving into turns, or standing and sprinting to the end. The head tube flows perfectly to the true monocoque hour glass top tube, which meets the 27.2 seatpost mass. One would also notice the top tube slopes ever so slightly, giving focus the shape of a classic true race frame. Splitting from the seatpost mass is 2 small seat stays designed specifically to give the rider hours of comfort riding over even the roughest of roads.
Given the Nature of the Focus Izalco, and the fact the Focus Izalco has won editors choice of the year 3 years in a row by bicycling magazine. One would expect pure power transfer, and phenomenal handling with no compromises of comfort, and confidence.
All of this is offered, with the knowledge your on one of the best engineered 3T forks offered on the market. The fork is solid confident with just the right amount of shock absorption. The Focus Izalco comes with several different component packages, for example the Focus Izalco Pro 1.0 comes with Dura Ace and a Rotor crank, the Focus Izalco Pro 2.0 comes with Sram Red, the Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 comes with Sram Force, and the Focus Izalco Pro 4.0 comes with Ultegra.
The Izalco has won best buy of the year three years in a row by Bicycling magazine, race bike of the year by Velo News, and this will not be the end!!
There is also a gap between the Focus Izalco Pro and the Focus Izalco Team as the Team is the much more expensive build retailing at $8800 for the Focus Izalco Team 1.0. Essentially the Frame is practically the same as the Izalco Pro models for 2012.
The Focus Izalco is available in size
XXS 48cm, XS 50cm, S 52cm, M 54cm, L 56cm, XL 58cm, XXL 60cm, XXXL 62cm, also with either a compact crankset or standard race crankset.
Go ahead and click if you’d like to take a look at the Focus Izalco Pro 1.0 2012 road bike which is currently one of the more popular builds again featuring Dura Ace. Or to check out all Focus Bikes.

Leader is back in the carbon road bike market!
Leader provides a state of the art 3K monocoque carbon fiber frame using the highest grade of carbon fiber available on the market.
